On 16th September 2024 at the Place of Many Trees, our cluster kick-off meeting and lunch offered an opportunity for members and collaborators to meet and hear about research and ongoing projects.

The event began with introductory notes by Barbara Arneil on the "colonial" followed by Nazmul Sultan on the "global" — two conceptions that animate the cluster's focus and that remain of interdisciplinary relevance to the cluster leads and participants. These notes were followed by a robust dialogue on the tensions and future directions of the current conceptions of these capacious terms.
